Project: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Client: Timber Pictures
Role: Video Editing, Color Grading, Graphics
Tools Used: Premeire, After Effects
The Challenge
Timber Pictures needed a skilled editor to help craft highlight videos for their "Good Energy 2.0" series, featuring clean energy suppliers and their partnerships with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The task? Take hours of beautifully shot footage and distill it into polished 2-3 minute videos that celebrated the work being done in clean energy.
This meant:
Organizing massive amounts of footage shot on Sony FX cameras.
Creating concise, smooth-flowing highlight reels from 20-30 minute interviews.
Ensuring each video maintained clarity, professionalism, and aligned with Mitsubishi's brand.

The Approach1. Organizing and Crafting the Story
The project kicked off with a hard drive full of stunning, high-quality footage—multiple interviews and b-roll filmed in ideal conditions. My background working with Sony FX footage on Next Level Farming and AgPhD helped me dive right in.
With a transcript of each interview, I worked closely with a rep who highlighted key talking points. It was my job to ensure the edits flowed smoothly, sometimes deviating from the script to maintain clarity and avoid awkward cuts. The goal was to deliver an authentic, engaging message while hiding any signs of the edits.
2. Color Grading
This part was straightforward thanks to the exceptional production quality—well-lit shots, color cards, and clear audio. I applied a LUT, made minor tweaks, and achieved a natural, professional look that enhanced the footage without overcomplicating it.
3. Graphics and Audio
While Timber Pictures worked with their preferred audio engineer, I focused on updating the graphics for each company's brand. This involved seamlessly incorporating logos and titles, building on templates created by a previous editor (who, coincidentally, is a friend of mine).
The Results
The project came together smoothly, with the only real challenge being trimming down interviews to hit the tight 2-3 minute mark while maintaining the integrity of each story.
The final videos celebrated the innovation made possible through Mitsubishi’s clean energy partnerships. Beyond the technical process, the coolest part was learning about the incredible technologies shaping the future of energy production.
