Role: Full Service Production - Outline to Final Render

HeadLight helps construction companies track job sites in real time. Instead of relying on paper-based inspections or end-of-week reports, their platform allows users to take pictures on-site, upload them instantly, and make them searchable for everyone involved. Our goal was to create a video showing how HeadLight simplifies job site inspections and improves collaboration.

What We Did

Kickoff and Script Writing

  • Stephanie and I started with a call to understand HeadLight’s needs.

  • We outlined key points and worked together on a script, refining it until it was just right.

  1. Storyboarding and Design

    • With multiple year-end projects on my plate, I brought in Sarah, a designer, to help.

    • I coordinated between Stephanie and Sarah to ensure the storyboard met HeadLight’s expectations.

  2. Animatic and Voiceover

    • I created a rough animation (animatic) with a scratch voiceover to test the pacing.

    • We chose a strong female voice for the final read to stand out from typical construction industry voices.

  3. Animation and Edits

    • I animated the video in After Effects, building it as a flexible template in case future updates were needed.

    • After initial feedback, I made revisions, added sound effects, and replaced placeholder footage with licensed clips.

The Result

The final video was clear, engaging, and effectively showcased HeadLight’s value. The decision to use a female voice added a unique touch, and the flexible design ensures the video can be updated easily. Working with HeadLight was a great experience, and the project turned out fantastic.
